Estudio Descriptivo Retrospectivo de las Patologías Diagnosticadas Radiológicamente en la Clínica Veterinaria Lasallista Hermano Octavio Martínez López desde enero de 2010 hasta Septiembre de 2012

Abstract

Digital radiography is a highly effective tool in the diagnosis of diseases in veterinary medicine in recent years, it also has a major involvement in decision making as it provides information closely related to the clinical picture of the patient.

Digital radiography has many advantages over conventional radiography because the images can be seen in less time , the defects in the shot or in the positioning are known instantly allowing retakes to get satisfactory results , achieves greater precision in the diagnosis given the possibility to change the resolution and contrast of images, allows the owners and clinicians visualize radiographs in high-resolution monitors and gives them the possibility of print the pictures or save it in a digital format.

In addition to this, it helps the environment conservation because reduces the use of chemicals that are highly polluting.

This study demonstrates the relevance of digital radiology and its increased use in LaSallista veterinary clinic, This study also shows the more frequent pathologies diagnosed using this technology and how it helped in the decision making , based in the image collection and data analysis obtained from January 2010 to September 2012.
