The method used was the revision and analysis of scientific books and articles, plus study cases related to the subject. The results are helpful to identify the importance of inverse logistics as a strategy for supply chains and national and international companies to protect environment and manage returns in an appropriate way, operating efficiently and recovering product value by the use of recycling processes, re-use and disposal, among others. On the other hand, decrees and norms to regulate waste management are observed in Colombia.esCadena de suministrosLógistica inversaÁrea Metropolitana del Valle de AburráCorporación Universitaria LasallistaResiduos sólidosReciclajeLogística inversa un proceso de impacto ambiental y productividadInverse logistics a process with environmental and productivity impactsLogística inversa um processo de impacto ambiental e produtividadeArticle
