The evolution of a disciplinary or professional field is associated to the capacity of its academic community for generating knowledge and this article deals with this topic from management Schools exiting in the country. Objective: to characterize the current status of research in Management Schools. Materials and Methods. A survey was applied to 65 deans of Management Schools of Colombia; this server was supplemented with institutional information of Colciencias scientific platforms. Results. Two types of Schools were identified: the first type called “ middle development of research” and the second one “low development of research.” “A hig development research group was not set.” Conclusions.
