González Vásquez, Adriana Judith2012-07-162012-07-1620091909-0455http://hdl.handle.net/10567/543The German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) implemented a pilot program for promoting environmental management among the private sector companies in developing countries (P3U), which allows the identification of instruments for a good environmental management adapted to the necessities of micro, small and medium size companies. The program consists of several instruments to make a “Profitable Environmental Management” (PREMA) using “Best Practices for Business Management” (BGE, in Spanish). Applying PREMA® makes possible a triple profit: improvement of economic efficiency and competitiveness through the net reduction of production costs, reduction of environmental impacts, minimizing solid and liquid wastes, atmospheric emissions and not specified products, a better organizational capacity to implement changes successfully. Consulting and training in PREMA® are made by qualified professionals certified by GTZ or PREMAnet e.V, both nationally and internationally. To make the quality of the product accurate and the PREMA® consulting services, GTZP3U instruments are registered since 2001 for their protection as a brand by the German Office of Patents and Registered Brands and, internationally, by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The responsibility to secure the quality of the product and its components, and also its copyright and use is assumed by GTZ-P3U, supported by the international PREMA network: Profitable Environmental Management (PREMAnet).
