After performing the laboratory tests and the imaging studies, pyothorax was diagnosed. The animal was also positive to feline viral leukemia. A microbiological culture of the pleural fluid was made, and Staphylococcushaemolyticus and Corynebacteriumspp were isolated. As a treatment, a thorax tube was used to drain the content and a gastrostomy tube was used to feed the patient.
