Abstract
Introduction. The informative approach
of the social conflicts allows to be
abreast of the events, through mediatic
representations that model symbolic
systemsofrepresentationthathighlightthe
newsworthy,inthisway,theyreflectimages
that affect or imply their comprehension.
In this sense, the teachers’ strike of 2017
constituted an informative milestone that
demands to be analyzed. Objective.
Determine the information treatment of
the main media to the teachers’ strike, its
newsrepresentationandthehegemonized
aspects. Materials and methods. From
a review of the published news about the
teaching strike and following an inductive
methodology, the published information
was categorized, in order to recognize
the informative contribution, the type of
information and the implicit messages
published. Results. In the informative
treatment,thenarrativeoftheeventswas
privileged,theconjuncturalratherthanthe
deepening. The news shows highlighted
the scandalous, thus denaturing the
essence of the conflict, opting for
sensationalism, linking them to violence,
anarchy and urban chaos. Conclusion.
The press when informing suffered from
difficulties for the news representation,
avoiding a better understanding.
