Resumen
Introduction. A study has been conducted about
the deep, negative consequences that intraurban
forced displacement may have on the development of
society, since it constitutes both a source of suffering
and a deterioration to social life. Objective. Show the
way in which community recognition appears in the
forms of frustration and failure, and negative forms
of recognition such as ignorance and denial, making
the discussion on “injuries to recognition” possible.
Materials and methods. A phenomenological
hermeneutical method was employed for this research
study given that it addresses the interpretation of
three types of sources: social situations, the works
of central philosophers applied to the context in
question, and the results of the research carried out
by the colleagues who participated in the collective
work. Results. The main result of the study is the
interpretation of the effects of forced displacement on
the San José de Manizales district (“comuna”), in the
light of the notion of recognition, as developed by Paul
Axel Honneth and Paul Ricoeur. Conclusions. The
studies conducted by these theorists have shown that
the figure of recognition is a significant moral motive
that has a decisive influence on the development
of society, whereas its denial and violation become
a source of social suffering and, consequently, of
deterioration to social life, all of which leads to hostility
towards society and culture.
