dc.description.abstractDiseases caused by bacteria of the family Anaplasmataceae are now considered common tropical bacterial infections in some species of dogs in Colombia. These microorganisms can behave similarly to other febrile or asymptomatic pathologies. For this reason, many cases are inconclusive or misdiagnosed. Given the above, a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 46 canine specimens in a canine hostel of the municipality of Caldas to evaluate molecularly and immunologically the presence of Ehrlichia sp and Anaplasma sp., DNA extraction was done in whole blood samples containing EDTA, phlogistic layer and blood clot. Dsb-330 and Dsb-728 primers were used for detection of segments of specific genes for the genus Ehrlichia, groEl (pla-HS475F and pla-HS1198R) primers for Anaplasma platys, and SNAP 4DX as serodiagnosis. The average quantitation of DNA for the 46 canines was 149.34 ng / ul in buffy coat, 86.72 ng / ul in blood with EDTA, and 33.68 ng / ul in blood clot. For products Dsb amplified by a band of about 409 pb of was observed in 28.26% (13/46) of the canines and for products groEl amplified by a band of about 724 pb of was observed in 6,5% (3/46) of the canines The sequences of all positive Dsb products were compared by GenBank giving a 100% similarity Ehrlichia canis; serological results were 6.5% (3/46) for Ehrlichia sp. This work has demonstrated the prevalence of microorganisms of the Ehrlichia canis kind in Caldas, municipality of Antioquia.es_ES
