Resumen

Introduction. Community, understood as a social group at different scales such as home, neighborhood, town, industry and city, is responsible for the changes in the environment in which they live. These transformations originate in their daily decisions, product generation, lifestyle and their interactions with the environment. Objective. In the frame of a multidisciplinary project, field research has been carried out in La Gabriela community in Medellin - Colombia. The project aims to analyze agricultural practices in a suburban environment that follows Eco-design principles. Materials and methods. The proposal aims to evaluate the feasibility of using the implementation of a simulator as a design and verification tool of agricultural practices within the community studied. It includes the main evaluation variables and allows statistical validation of results with parametric variations to the processes. Results. The simulator allows to prevent unwanted results by predicting the system’s behavior and permits to adjust the parameters of the model to optimize the actions to be executed. In this paper, the field research results and simulation scheme will be presented. Conclusion. The systemic vision proposes a series of principles for society, industry and the environment in terms of connectivity, relationships and context, which can be verified through the simulator, focusing on generating or modifying behaviors and processes for the correct use of resources.
