| dc.description.abstract | Introduction. The decade for education in the sphere of human rights, proclaimed by UN in 1997, has boosted the strengthening of programs to increase the respect for human rights, which are an urgent educational priority by the Latin American Educative Regional Lasallian Project (PERLA) in 2001. Objective. To evaluate the efforts made in the Lasallian educative institutes in Latin America and the Caribbean in favor of the rights of children and the young. Materials and methods. Research with a descriptive focus, that analyzes several aspects of education for the rights, particularly in skills related to the discussion of human rights, the promotion of abilities for judging situations, social skills, increase of the knowledge on human rights, the democratic ambience in the classroom and successful experiences in the educational framework concerning human rights. For that purpose, the information was collected between September 2006 and July 2007, using an instrument that included qualitative and quantitative indicators referred to the bundle of data necessary to show the situation in every educative program. Results. The experiences that take place in the Lasallian programs from the region are involving students and teachers, impacting the communities in the surroundings and the parents. Besides, those experiences evidence that the Lasallian programs have assumed a wide for the teaching of human rights, not only covering contents but habits and resources that allow the exercise and defense of human rights in an environment of respect towards the others. Conclusion. All of the Lasallian educative programs that participated in the research work have a big commitment with teaching human rights. Therefore, there is a systematic reflection on the subject. | en_US |

El Decenio para la educación en la esfera de los derechos humanos, proclamado por las Naciones Unidas en 1997, ha tendido por el fortalecimiento de programas que mejoren el respeto de los derechos humanos, los que son priorizados como una urgencia educativa por el Proyecto Educativo Regional LAsallista Latinoamericano (PERLA) en 2001.Objetivo. Evaluar los esfuerzos que han realizado las obras educativas lasallistas de América Latina y el Caribe en favor de los derechos de los niños y los jóvenes. Materiales y métodos. Investigación con enfoque descriptivo que analiza diversos aspectos de la formación derechos, particularmente las destrezas relacionadas con la discusión de los Derechos Humanos, el fomento de habilidades para juzgar situaciones, la promoción de habilidades sociales, el aumento de los conocimientos en el tema de derechos humanos, el clima democrático en el aula y experiencias exitosas en el ámbito de educación en y para los derechos humanos. Para ello se recolectó información durante los meses de septiembre de 2006 a junio de 2007, utilizando un instrumento que incluyó indicadores cualitativos y cuantitativos, referidos al conjunto de datos necesarios para mostrar la situación en cada obra educativa. Resultados. Las experiencias que se llevan a cabo en las obras lasallistas de la Región, están involucrando a estudiantes y maestros, llegando a impactar a las comunidades vecinas y a los padres de familia, además se muestra que las obras educativas lasallistas de la Región han asumido un enfoque amplio en la enseñanza de los derechos humanos, no sólo abordando contenidos, sino también hábitos y recursos que permiten el ejercicio y la defensa de los derechos humanos en un ambiente respetuoso a los demás. Conclusión. En todas las obras educativas participantes en la investigación hay una fuerte preocupación por la enseñanza de los derechos humanos, existiendo una sistemática reflexión sobre el tema. | |
