Abstract
Bioethics is now facing unprecedented challenges, but a big part of them have their
roots in the 20th century. Concerning ten ideas and discoveries that are currently in
the center of bioethical reflections, it is convenient to have clear concepts in order to
propose applicable solutions that have, as essential references, the dignity of every
human being, the common good and an adequate relationship with the ecosystem.
Some of the ideas are the immanence, the wellbeing and the globalization. Some of
the discoveries with bioethical implications are the atomic energy, the contraceptive
pill, the assisted reproduction techniques and the electronic currency.
