Abstract
Waste Water Treatment Plants´ reliability can be defined as the system´s probability to accomplish with the discharges established by current rules. In this research work, the reliability coefficient as the objective parameter of each purifier was calculated, and the average values of the concentrations of DB05 and SST were related with the objective parameters in order to determine the feasibility to reuse the effluents from the WWTP. Among the WWTP analyzed, the ones from Cajicá, Cogua, Chocontá and Gachancipá, in which the efluents have averages below 30 mg/L in BOD and close to this value in SST, have a potential for being reused for agricultural and environmental purposes, because the variation of the relative cost for the abatement of the contamination to meet the rule would not be high.
