Abstract
Introduction. This paper introduces the results of
an action-research work made by the Zona Radio de
Medellín (Colombia) Community Radio Station and
Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación, Universidad
de Granada (Spain). The method used was an
analysis of the variables from gender inequality
situations approached in the radio shows of the
station, interacting with students from Granada by
the use of a Facebook profile, videoconferences
and homemade tv-web shows. Materials and
methods. The experience was evaluated with
original questionnaires and by a content analysis
of the messages published on the Facebok profile.
Results. The result of this work gathers items
and documentary evidence that delves in the
participant´s titrations regarding emotions, solidarity,
social commitment, creation of shared knowledge
and general satisfaction with the participation in a
multicultural digital communication experience. The
results obtained re-affirm the use of web 2.0 tools to
establish a fertile, creative and collaborative dialogue
between the two cultures and citizenship realities.
Conclusion. In the conclusions, it is important to
remark that there is a higher conscience about gender
inequality, thus boosting a favorable attitude towards
the mobilization of the women claiming for their
rights and the reporting of gender violence. Finally, it is important to remark that all the participants were
greatly satisfied with the experience, and that they
would unanimously recommend it to their friends.
