Abstract
One could say that although there is information
and practice for many centuries about the
benefits of human-animal relationship are very
recent research processes in this regard. Animal
Assisted Therapy (AAT or TACA) is performed
when a human interacts with predetermined
criteria for therapeutic purposes. There are
different types of TAA such as hippotherapy,
the dolphin therapy and small animals. The
purpose of these rules is to intervene to improve
health conditions in people with cardiovascular
problems, autism, Down syndrome, victims of
violence, motricity among others. There are
some organizations or institutions at global
and national levels that develop these types of
programs such as Bocolan Foundation of Spain
and Las Golondrinas of Colombia, entities that
contribute to the improvement those important
activities.
