Resumen

In order to achieve world domination based on ideology and terror, totalitarian movements in the XX century used mechanisms such as governments without structures, secret police organizations and concentration fields, which allowed the configuration of a new way of social organization in which public and private freedom of citizens was suppressed. From the Arendt´s studies about totalitarianism, this paper aims to introduce the dangers brought by the fact of abandoning the public sphere a space in which it is possible to construct collective identity references.
