Resumen
This essay makes a meditation about the feasibility
of (with the aim of reconsidering contemporarity) a
doctrine like that of the stoics, keeping in mind the
historical distance between that theory and our time.
To accomplish this, we have considered some
aspects that allow the estimation of the reasons
why this theory can be used for this purpose. Among
them, we remark: a glance to the life of one of the
most emblematic authors of the stoic school, Lucius
Annaeus Seneca. The sense of stoicism as a way
of life and philosophy doctrine, and a small review
to Seneca’s work to, finally, conclude remarking
some common criteria between stoic interests and
those of our times.
