Abstract
Introduction. The important and accelerated
advances experimented in recent years by
information and communication technologies have
begun to influence, in a very big way, the world press.
This can be seen for instance in the fact that traditional
national newspapers limit themselves, mostly, to
simply making transcripts of their printed versions in
the Net, disregarding the characteristics and demands
of a media like Internet. Objective. To compare the
printed and online versions of the main colombian
newspapers. Materials and methods. A comparative
analysis is made between the printed and the online
versions of five of the main Colombian newspapers,
from the perspective of the traditional journalistic
composition and related to the modern digital
composition theories. Results. Digital journalism in
Colombia is almost inexistent; besides, there is a
general lack of knowledge concerning the
characteristics and possibilities offered by a mass
media like Internet. Conclusion. In Colombia, digital
journalism is still far from achieving an important
development.
