Artistic education plays a key role in the school learning processes and
allows, through an aesthetic experience, the approximation of all the education aims: access to the cultural world. The validity and scope of this education have been studied from two aspects: the public policy agenda at contnental level and the curriculum development moments of artistic education.
Results have shown that the artistic impact in education goes beyond establishing or regulating the teaching of a knowledge area or field since the
question does not rely only a pedagogic challenge for the school or for the
teacher, but on a collective challenge in which the whole society is involved.
At the same time, aesthetic education contributes to individual and social
development from a democratic perspective based on the recognition and
legitimacy of the other.
