Abstract

This analysis is the result of a reflection about what was found on the academic processes of 8th grade students from La Salle – Bello school in 2010. Throughout the process, it can be distinguished the great need that students have on the accompaniment of teachers on every step they take in the school, and the opportunity that represents for them to have someone within the school to guide them, not only in their academic formation but also in their growing as persons, as whole human beings. This paper puts forward La Salle’s proposal form its educational institutions to transform the school into a “place of salvation”, where teachers can find the necessary elements to give his life project the color it needs and to find in education the appropriate motivations to perform as individual. It is important that teacher recognizes that his work transcends the walls of a classroom; that his vocation fulfills when he does move his students’ hearts and transforms those minds full of noise and confusion into creativity and knowledge gardens. The teacher is guarantor of students staying in the school when he makes them to fall in love of learning and giving them challenges that encourage them to create higher expectations about what they learn.
