Abstract
Introduction. This work exposes the experiment
made with the Recoltive red dye with titanium dioxide,
peroxide and fenton, using as a mean the UV
lamp. The rehearsals made required variations of
the quantity of these oxidants. Objective. To compare
the treatments with titanium dioxide and fenton
for waste waters with dye. Materials and methods.
The equipment used included a glass bucket 41cm
x 25,5 x 20 cm measures in which there was 15 L of
the simple. A UV Mighty Pure lamp of 60 Hz and a
bomb with a flux of 0,047 L/s. The dye was conditioned
in the tank, and its final concentration was
100 Mg/L . The Ph was constantly measured to be
adjusted in 5 when fenton was used and with TiO2
the Ph values were measured without adding acids
or bases, because the stability is higher. Results.
The best combination to treat water from the textile
industry with an UV lamp and titanium dioxide is
100 mg/L of TiO2 and 2% v/v of H2O2. The reharsal
that showed an optimal degradation of the colour
with fenton was that of 30mg/L of FeCl3 and 1 of v/v
of H2O2. Conclusions. The use of advanced oxidation
processes as, for instance, photocatalysis with
TiO2 or photofenton, gave different results concerning
the reduction of the degradation percentage of
the dye and higher speeds of reaction, being the
reaction of photofenton the one with the highest values
and reaction times (E13 with 30 mg/L FeCl3
and 1%v/v of H2O2).
