Abstract

This work aimed at the general improvement of administrative parameters in the area of agriculture in Agropecuaria La Soria, specifically in the development process of pangola grass hay. The parameters were to increase productivity of the area, set academic production bases for education process, reduce the level of absenteeism within the company, encouraging communication at all levels, fostering the degree of empowerment and motivation of all employees of the area and improve registration systems for all productive activities of the area. All in order to achieve optimization of resources and implementation of an efficient production model that can be used as the academic bases for students who are part of the learning process known as Practical technical work that is being built with Panaca and Agropecuaria La Soria since 2014. The methodology used was the manual lifting hay production, the development of a registration system for productive activities, time and motion analysis of productive work in the development of hay, the design of motivational strategies and empowerment for employees, the development of the manual of agricultural machinery and the search of specific trainings for employees. With these changes the enterprise started to have positive results that were starting to be reflected in an increasing of productivity and profitability. The project was developed in Agropecuaria La Soria, located in the city of Lérida in the state of Tolima-Colombia. The company is dedicated to three productive areas: the area of pork production that works as an independent company known as “Porcícola La Soria” which consists of 700 active females and its final product is selling heavy pigs. The second area is livestock consists of 135 lactating cows of the race girolando and its final product is refrigerated milk which is sell to be processed in an external enterprise named Colanta in the state of Bogota. Finally, the agricultural area which is responsible for the production of fodder for animal consumption, specifically for the production of hay with the grass Digitaria eriantha (pangola) and to a smaller production of silage of corn and forage sorghum.
