Abstract
The fundamental rights are those inherent to a person given his/her human condition, and they are established in the political constitution of Colombia and
in international treaties. This article approaches the
concept and the scope of the rights to a good name,
the honor and the privacy, and their relation with the
fundamental rights to free speech and information,
from the vision provided by the constitutional court
in it s jurisprudence. It can be seen that the court has
been careful to establish rules and limits for the information broadcasted by individuals or by mass media, in order to prevent free speech and information
from violating the rights to a good name, the honor
and the privacy of third parties.
