Abstract
This research had as a primary object to study the process of internal communication and operation of the Unidad Servicio Médico de EPM. It is studied from organizational communication for contribute to strengthen the relationship between the Unit Medical Service and their Stakeholders, in order to get effectiveness communication, better use of the services offered by the Unit and the welfare of consumers.
Diagnose the current media, whiches are being used to inform the different audiences of Unit Medical Service EPM, recognize the needs that users have about the information. The ways in how they receive it and what they receive it and implement internal communication strategies to achieve greater effectiveness in communication processes are the objectives outlined in this research.
For making the diagnostic, we resorted to the method of action research participation and three data collection techniques applied: observation, focus group and survey.
This diagnostic allowed identifying needs from the Stakeholders of the USM, analyzing communication channels most effective for delivering information and identifying how we should plan, do, check and adjust, in order to achieve a clear and strategic planning.
The results showed that the communicative process in the Unidad Servicio Médico is focused on strengthening of the relationship with their Stakeholders, but the implemented strategies are not the most appropriate for having a better use of the media and get effective communication.
