Abstract
the aquaculture production chain of the department of Nariño (Colombia) generates work and employment, food security and export opportunities, however, it does not involve adequate processes to manage the derived waste. From 2015 to 2018, 1,040 tons of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) viscera were generated in Pasto and 1,386 tons of shrimp head and exoskeleton (Litopenaeus) in Tumaco. The Objectiveof this article is to identify, from the perspective of the principles of bioeconomy and participatory planning, strategies that promote the recovery of trout and shrimp residues. Materials and methods: in the first stage the main planning instruments for aquaculture and fishing were reviewed and a semi-structured interview was carried out with the productive, institutional and academic stakeholders, and in the second stage the Logical Framework Methodology (MML), all in the year 2020. Results show the relevance of developing three strategic components in the medium term in the technical-productive, environmental and organizational fields, both in Pasto and Tumaco: 1) productive and technical models of waste use, 2) conditions for aquaculture production and recovery of waste based on ecosystems, and 3) self-sustainable community development and business partner. Conclusions: there is a willingness of the social actors involved in the aquaculture chain to undertake research, planning and technical and biological use processes of trout viscera in the village of Encano (Pasto) and shrimp in the municipality of Tumaco
