Degradación de aguas residuales de la industria textil por medio de fotocatálisis

Abstract

Introduction: For dye degradation, different Technologies of tertiarty treatment have been used (nanofiltration, microfiltration, electrocoagulation), the advanced processes (H2O2/UV and heterogeneous and homogeneous photo catalysis) and combined treatments of photo catalysis and electrolytic oxidation. In many cases, the application of such technologies has brought a diminution in the concentration of dye in the treated effluents. Objective: To evaluate photo degradation sensitized with titanium dioxide for a dye used in textile industries. Materials and methods: Rehearsals were made in a parabolic composed cylinder sunlight collector, which is made up by 8 glass pipes and an aluminium sheet. This allows the reflection of ultraviolet radiation of sunlight. The device had a recirculation pump and a tank. The sunlight collector had a 6 degrees inclination with respect to the ground. The glass pipes were united with PVC connections. Assemblies were made during a 8 hours period of radication, and colour and COT analysis were made every hour. Results: Best TiO2 concentrations are 100 mg/L and 2% of H2LO2, obtaining a degradation rate of approximately 98%.  Conclusions: Recoltive red dye can be degraded with good combinations between titanium dioxide and hydrogen peroxide, obtaining also good mineralization percentages in the same dye.
