Ítem Nueva perspectiva del parvovirus canino(Corporación Universitaria Lasallista, 2012) Hurtado Hernández, Daniela; Báez Suárez, Paola CatherineCanine Parvovirus, (CPV), is one of the main viral agents that affect canines regardless their age, but puppies are more likely to suffer from it. Nowadays, the world epidemiological situation of this disease is enzootic. Despite the availability of a vaccine, its dissemination is growing among canine populations from the South of the Aburrá Valley, the place in which the case analysis is focused. This article illustrates a brief and updated bibliographic revision of CPV, discussing the diagnostic plans, treatments and the prevention of this disease at a world scale. Cases in the South of the Aburrá Valley are also introduced, taking Clínica Veterinaria Lasallista Hermano Octavio Martínez as a reference.Ítem Uveodermatologic canine syndrome: case report(Corporación Universitaria Lasallista, 2012-08-21) Báez Suárez, Paola Catherine; González Hernández, HenryUveodermatologic syndrome can be identified because it occurs with signs of anterior or posterior uveitis, periocular and mucocutaneous junction’s alopecia and depigmentation signs. An uveodermatologic syndrome case in an 8 1/2 years old collie sheepdog is described. The dog had periorbital alopecia and depigmentation in mucoctaneous junctions. A biopsy of the injuries in the periorbital and nose region turned out in a definitive diagnose of uveodermatologic syndrome. Then, the clinical situation was solved by the use of a therapy with prednisolone.
