Choice making in agricultural and livestock sectors is a process that starts with the
identification of the problem and finishes when an adequate alternative is established.
For that purpose, several qualitative and quantitative tools are available, and they
allow a rational election. The case of Fertilizer S.A. is presented as an example. It
is a company devoted to produce liquid fertilizer fort plants. A quantitative model
for taking decisions is applied, evidencing the possibility of optimizing the scarce
resources that participate in any production process, especially in those of the
agricultural and livestock sectors, in which inputs are expensive and profitability rates
are narrow.
