Globalization directly influences the traditionally used commercial ways and practices,
blurring borders and giving two paths to the inhabitants of a territory: They can
adaptat themselves and look for better ways to compete, which requires preparation,
or simply step aside and remember old good times.
Free trade agreements (FTA) aim to reduce or finish tax barriers, allowing a free trade
flow. Nevertheless, it is necessary to bring a balance to them, which can be applied
only in the case that the parties involved have the resources and the preparation to
take the best advantages from this kind of agreements.
Under these terms, agricultural industries are
sensible to FTA´s. They, then, need to bet prepared
and strengthen schemes such as Agricultural
Industry Districts, as a factor that can foster this
segment by the use of scale economies.
