This article aims to reflect on two relevant
issues: the nefarious consequences of the
anthropocentric theory in the history of Western
culture, which consolidated itself as a heritage in
Colombia, and the parental absence theory in the
Colombian territory, in which the Colombian state
has not acted as a “father” in certain scenarios,
as possible causes to answer the question “why
are we like this?” This question requires us to ask
ourselves about the possible causes of the type of
violence established in Colombia by the hand of
the so called conquerors, in 1492.
